Anesthesia Assistants shall strive to follow best practices in all patient interactions and interventions, adhering to the principles of beneficence and non-maleficence for the best interests of the patient.


Autonomy

 

Anesthesia Assistants shall maintain respect for human dignity and respect for deliberated self rule by communicating with the patient openly and truthfully to facilitate voluntary informed consent.


Privacy and Confidentiality

 

Anesthesia Assistants shall respect the privacy of all patients and hold any disclosed information in confidence, subject to any governing rules, regulations, and laws.


Professionalism

 

Anesthesia Assistants shall strive for the highest standards of professional commitment to practice and continued education with the goal of following best practice in the best interest of the patient.


Justice

 

Anesthesia Assistants shall provide services with respect to the fundamental human rights as granted by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, particularly ensuring access to services unrestricted by age, race, sex, status, national or ethnic origin, or disability.
